A Day of Inventing and Innovation
(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) - Local creative thinkers came out on their February 5th PD Day to make toys. This Kids Invent!™ workshop challenged students to make something out of seemingly nothing. YouLaunch hosted the Kids Invent!™ camp as part of Bon Soo with funds going to support the United Way. It was made possible in partnership with Head Start in Business and the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre.
The day started with a toy brainstorm and using spaghetti and marshmallows to make a bridge. We learned some designs worked better than others.
Campers then worked together to form Mr. Bon Soo for the 12 day winter carnival held in Sault Ste. Marie.
The afternoon was all about toys. Participants were challenged to create the best parachute for Mr. Bon Soo then design a car. Designers had two challenges to ensure completion of their projects.
The team was very impressed with how innovative particpants were. We hope to see you all again soon!
